the relationship was not perfectly proportional across all states
yielded only about 5 million pounds of honey

South Dakota came in second for colonies
Notably, although South Dakota had nearly double the number of colonies

the highest among the five states by a substantial margin
a lower scale of beekeeping activity

each of which had significantly fewer colonies
although South Dakota had nearly double the number of colonies compared to Minnesota or Montana

The bar charts below provide information about honey production and honey producing colonies in the five American states in 2006.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.

The bar charts compare the number of honey-producing bee colonies with the amount of honey produced in five U.S. states in 2006: North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Overall, North Dakota clearly dominates in both the number of colonies and honey output, while Wisconsin ranks lowest in both. Though there was a correlation between the number of bee colonies and the amount of honey a state produced, the relationship was not perfectly proportional across all states.
In 2006, North Dakota boasted about 350,000 honey-producing colonies and produced over 25 million pounds of honey – the highest among the five states by a substantial margin. South Dakota came in second for colonies, with around 225,000, yet its honey production was similar to Montana and Minnesota, each of which had significantly fewer colonies (roughly 130,000 in Montana and 120,000 in Minnesota).
Meanwhile, Wisconsin had the smallest number of colonies, just over 50,000, and yielded only about 5 million pounds of honey, indicating a lower scale of beekeeping activity. Notably, although South Dakota had nearly double the number of colonies compared to Minnesota or Montana, its honey production did not reflect that proportional increase.
