Dear Marco, It was great to hear from you, and even better to hear that you’re finally coming to visit! If you can choose your dates, I’d come in October. The summer heat has gone by then, it hardly ever rains, and the hotels are much cheaper than in August. Try to avoid the first week, though, because there’s a national holiday and everything gets crowded. There’s plenty to do. You have to see the old town, which is full of narrow streets and tiny cafes, and I know you’ll love the food market by the river. If you like walking, we could spend a day in the hills just outside the city. The view from the top is amazing. You’re welcome to stay with me, of course. I’ve got a spare room, and I can pick you up from the airport if you send me your flight details. I’ll also take a couple of days off work so I can show you around. Let me know what you decide.
